USS BENHAM (DD-796)
A Fletcher class destroyer built by Bethlehem Steel, Staten Island, NY, and commissioned on 20 December 1943.  W W II actions included the invasions of Saipan, Tinian and Guam.  Transferred to Peru in 1960 and renamed Villar (D71).   Photo - Nobe Smith

AEGIS GUIDED MISSILE CRUISER
 One of the world's most capable and highly versatile warships, designed to screen carrier battle groups and surface action groups against air, surface and undersea attacks. 

 
U.S.S.  GRASP (ARS-51)
SALVAGE SHIP
Built by Peterson Builders, Sturgeon Bay, Wisc., and commissioned on 14 December 1985.  Primary missions include salvage, towing, and rescue operations.

 
USCGC GALLATIN (WHEC-721)
Built by Avondale Shipyards, New Orleans, LA, and commissioned in 1968.  Weapons extensively updated in 1991. Primary missions include maritime law enforcement and high seas search and rescue.

 
U.S.S. SPRUANCE (DD-963)
The first of the multi-mission SPRUANCE class destroyers, the largest in the world.  Commissioned on 20 September 1975.

 
USS ARLEIGH BURKE  (DDG-51)
The first of a new class of Aegis guided-missile destroyers, the most advanced surface combatant in the world.  Named for Admiral Arleigh Burke, famous W W II destroyer squadron commander, who later rose to become the longest-serving Chief of Naval Operations in Navy history.  Commissioned on July 4, 1991 at Norfolk, Va.

 
USS ORION (AS-18)
Commissioned on 30 September 1943, USS ORION has been modernized to service nuclear powered attack submarines and advanced electronic equipment and weapons. 

 
USS EL PASO (LKA-117)
Named for the city and county of El Paso, Texas, and commissioned on January 17, 1970.

 
USS KALAMAZOO (AOR-6)
Designed to provide the fleet with rapid underway replenishment of petroleum, munitions, and other provisions.  Named for the city of Kalamazoo, Mich., and commissioned on 11 August 1973.
